Daisy Coin Pouch Free Crochet Pattern

I’m so excited to bring you the next crochet pattern in my flower series! This pattern is a bit different from my flower pillows since it is a daisy coin pouch! About 2 years ago, I designed a daisy purse and a sunflower purse and always meant to make coin purses to complement them. It took me a bit to finally make the first one but here it is, the daisy couch pouch pattern! 🌼 If you couldn’t already tell from most of my free patterns, I just love all things floral and nature-related, so I can’t wait to use this coin pouch to hold all my essentials. The best part? All the crochet parts of this pattern are no-sew!

There is a zipper in this pattern and I know that can intimidate some crocheters on how to attach it, but I promise it is not difficult. There are three options on how to attach a zipper to a crochet project, sewing, crocheting, or using fabric glue. Personally, I prefer to sew mine in using a sewing needle and worsted weight yarn but there are tutorials over on youtube if you want to try to crochet it in (I find it more difficult, personally). If you are a beginner, you can use fabric glue to attach the zipper. I made one by using glue and it worked well! So grab your fluffy chenille yarn and let’s crochet a beautiful daisy coin pouch together!

If you prefer PDF patterns with no ads, or just want to support me as an artist, the PDF for this pattern is available for purchase here. For this pattern, I used Size 6 Super Bulky yarn from Hobbii, Honey Bunny in White, Pastel Yellow & Lilac. Click here to get yarn for this project. You will need less than half a skein of each color (each skein is 131 yards). Note: due to differing tensions, you may need more or less yarn than recommended.

THIS PATTERN USES THE “NO-SEW” METHOD TO ATTACH THE PETALS TO THE CENTER

HOW TO ATTACH PETALS WITH THE “NO-SEW” METHOD:

STEP 1: FLATTEN THE OPENING ON THE PETAL. INSERT YOUR HOOK THROUGH BOTH THE STITCHES OF THE SEPARATE PETAL AS WELL AS THE NEXT STITCH ON THE CENTER.

STEP 2: DO A SINGLE CROCHET THROUGH ALL STITCHES, CONTINUE DOING AS MANY SINGLE CROCHETS AS THE PATTERN CALLS FOR TO ATTACH ALL PETALS.

MATERIALS & TOOLS

ABBREVIATIONS

  • CH – chain
  • SC – single crochet
  • INC – single crochet increase (2 SC in each stitch)
  • DEC – decrease (I use the invisible decrease in all of my creations for a cleaner look)
  • FLO – crochet in the front loops only
  • BLO – crochet in the back loops only
  • CC – color change
  • FO – fasten off
  • Magic ring (MR) – Make a loop, leaving a long tail to work with. Insert the hook in the center of the loop, yarn over, and draw up a loop. Yarn over, and pull through to make the first chain (this does not count as a stitch). Continue to crochet over the loop and tail with the number of stitches called for. There are many excellent YouTube videos on how to make a magic circle if you are a visual learner! Always move your stitch marker to the last stitch in the round.

THIS PATTERN IS WORKED IN CONTINUOUS ROUNDS.
