I’ve been a big fan of the Duolingo app for several years as I have always loved learning new languages. Growing up, I always took Spanish classes in school and that was my best subject. Even though I took those classes most of my life and even into college, I still entered my adult years unable to truly speak the language. So now, well into my adult life, I am still wanting to be able to speak Spanish well and hold my own in conversations. That is when I started using Duolingo to brush up on my Spanish lessons. I am also learning Japanese (which is much more difficult for me) and at one point was learning High Valyerian (my fellow GOT fans know what I’m talking about).
As you already know about me, I am a huge fan of anything cute, especially animals and characters. Going through my lessons with this adorable green owl makes it much more fun for me. So of course, I had to create a plush version that can sit on my desk and silently judge me for skipping my daily lessons. Also, if you are on TikTok too much like I am, I’m sure you have seen the Duolingo vidoes pop up on your feed. As a marketing director for my full time job, I can’t help but marvel at the unique and hilariously unhinged content their team puts out.
And no, this post is not sponsored, I just really wanted to make the Duolingo owl mascot for a while. I could not find any patterns online for it, so of course I wanted to make my own.

There are many wonderful YouTube videos on how to make a magic circle if you are a visual learner!Always move your stitch marker to the last stitch in the round.
