Eeyore Free Crochet Pattern - Easy Amigurumi

For me, Eeyore might be a sad character but seeing him always brings a smile to my face. I think that is because I grew up loving Winnie the Pooh and even had a bedroom full of Pooh and friends decor. I always wished I could give Eeyore a hug to cheer him up. Now that I can crochet amigurumi, I wanted to create an Eeyore crochet plush to hug. I hope that sharing this pattern brings you back to simpler times in life or brings joy to your loved ones as a gift. And if you need some cheering up, always remember this quote from Eeyore, “The nicest thing about the rain is that it always stops. Eventually.”

For this pattern, I used Premier Parfait Chunky yarn (which is my favorite yarn) for a soft pastel look. Click here to get Premier yarn for this project. MATERIALS & TOOLS

Yarn: Premier Parfait Chunky (Size 6) in blue, white, purple & pink
Yarn for details: Medium worsted weight in black & brown
Crochet hook (Size 6.0 mm)
Polyfil – fiberfill stuffing
Felt for details in black & white
Fabri-tac fabric glue
Cat hair brush (to brush out hair)
Yarn Needle
Scissors
Stitch marker
Sewing pins

ABBREVIATIONS

CH – chain
SC – single crochet
INC – single crochet increase (2 SC in each stitch)
DEC – decrease (I use the invisible decrease in all of my creations for a cleaner look)
FO – fasten off
Magic ring – Make a loop, leaving a long tail to work with. Insert hook in the center of loop, yarn over, and draw up a loop. Yarn over, pull through to make the first chain (this does not count as a stitch). Continue to crochet over the loop and tail with the number of stitches called for. There are many wonderful YouTube videos on how to make a magic circle if you are a visual learner! Always move your stitch marker to the last stitch in the round.

THIS PATTERN IS WORKED IN CONTINUOUS ROUNDS.

-USING MEDIUM BROWN YARN, TIE SHORT PIECES OF YARN TO THE END OF THE TAIL, & USING A SEWING NEELDE, FRAY THE ENDS OF THE TAIL. TRIM THE TAIL HAIR TO YOUR DESIRED LENGTH.

-USING A STRAND OF PINK YARN, TIE A BOW AROUND THE END OF THE TAIL

ASSEMBLY:

-SEW THE BODY ONTO THE HEAD, CENTERED WITH THE BOTTOM OF THE BODY (MAKING SURE THE WHITE PART OF THE HEAD IS ON BOTTOM.

-SEW THE ARMS TO BOTH SIDES OF BODY, RIGHT WHERE HEAD AND BODY MEET.

-SEW THE EARS TO THE TOP OF THE HEAD, SLIGHTLY FORWARD AND 4 ROWS FROM THE TOP CENTER.

-SEW THE BELLY TO THE FRONT OF THE BODY, BETWEEN ROUNDS 10 & 17.

-SEW THE TAIL TO THE BACK OF THE BODY, BETWEEN ROUNDS 10 & 11.

-USING BLACK MEDIUM YARN, WEAVE A LONG STRAND BETWEEN ROUNDS 4 & 14 TO CREATE THE LINE DOWN THE MIDDLE OF THE FACE. CREATE THE NOSTRILS BY WEAVING BLACK YARN AROUND ONE STITCH ON EACH SIDE OF THE MIDDLE BLACK LINE.

-USING BLACK FELT, CUT OUT THE TWO EYES AND EYEBROWS AND GLUE THEM TO THE FACE AS SEEN BELOW.

-USING WHITE FELT, CUT OUT TWO SMALL CIRCLES FOR THE EYES, ATTACH THEM TO BLACK EYES USING FABRIC GLUE.

-USING MEDIUM BROWN YARN, ATTACH 6 SHORT PIECES OF YARN TO THE TOP CENTER OF THE HEAD BY TYING THEM ON, BRUSH OUT THE HAIR WITH A CAT FUR BRUSH AND TRIM TO YOUR DESIRED LENGTH.
