I had this idea for a cute crochet flamingo since my niece, named Hannah, is the biggest fan of my amigurumi creations. When I’m on FaceTime with her, I’ll ask, “Do you want to see what Aunt Nene made today?” and she gets so excited to find out what my latest crochet plush is. Her favorite animal right now is a flamingo which she calls “honk”. I knew it was about time that I made her favorite animal in my own amigurumi style to see her face light up. When I showed her that Aunt Nene’s new creation was a honk named Hannah, she was ecstatic.
I wanted to share this free crochet pattern with you to make people in your life smile too. Here perfectly in time for summer, this pattern will help you create an adorable crochet flamingo for yourself, your kids, or as a gift for baby showers and summer birthdays.

MATERIALS & TOOLS
- Yarn (BRIGHT PINK, LIGHT PINK, WHITE, BLACK) I used Red Heart brand yarn, medium, 100% acrylic but feel free to use the yarn of your choosing, the size of your yarn will determine the final size of your doll
- Crochet hook (Size G, 4.0 mm)
- Polyfil – fiber fill stuffing
- DARK EMBROIDERY THREAD
- Sewing needle
- Scissors
- Stitch marker
- Sewing pins
ABBREVIATIONS
- Ch – chain
- Sc – single crochet
- Inc- single crochet increase (2 SC in each stitch)
- Dec- decrease (I use the invisible decrease in all of my creations for a cleaner look)
- SlSt – slip stitch
- BLO – crochet in the back loops only
- Magic ring– Make a loop, leaving a long tail to work with. Insert hook in center of loop, yarn over and draw up a loop. Yarn over, pull through to make the first chain (this does not count as a stitch). Continue to crochet over the loop and tail with the number of stitches called for. There are many wonderful YouTube videos on how to make a magic circle if you are a visual learner!Always move your stitch marker to the last stitch in the round.
