Keroppi Plush Crochet Pattern – Amigurumi

If you’re a fan of Sanrio’s adorable frog character, Keroppi, you may be interested in making your very own Keroppi amigurumi. Keroppi is a lovable and iconic character created by Sanrio, the same company responsible for the world-famous Hello Kitty franchise. Known for his cheerful demeanor and wide smile, Keroppi is a green frog who loves spending time with his friends and exploring his hometown of Donut Pond. Keroppi was first introduced in 1988 and quickly gained popularity among children and adults alike. He is often seen wearing a red and white striped shirt and a large green bow tie. He has big, round eyes and a friendly face that makes him instantly recognizable. If you are a fan of these cute characters, be sure to check out my Hello Kitty and My Melody crochet patterns as well.

For this pattern, I used Premier Parfait Chunky yarn (which is my favorite yarn) for a soft pastel look. Click here to get Premier yarn for this project. If you enjoy this pattern, please give me a follow on social media and let me know what other free patterns you would love to see! MATERIALS & TOOLS

ABBREVIATIONS

  • CH – chain
  • SC – single crochet
  • INC – single crochet increase (2 SC in each stitch)
  • DEC – decrease (I use the invisible decrease in all of my creations for a cleaner look)
  • SLST – slip stitch
  • FO – fasten off
  • Magic ring (MR) – Make a loop, leaving a long tail to work with. Insert the hook in the center of the loop, yarn over, and draw up a loop. Yarn over, and pull through to make the first chain (this does not count as a stitch). Continue to crochet over the loop and tail with the number of stitches called for. There are many excellent YouTube videos on how to make a magic circle if you are a visual learner! Always move your stitch marker to the last stitch in the round.

THIS PATTERN IS WORKED IN CONTINUOUS ROUNDS.
