wisp animal crossing

Wisp – Animal Crossing Free Crochet Pattern

If you’re an Animal Crossing fan like me, the NPC characters truly make the game great. One of my favorite characters is Wisp, the frightened ghost that appears periodically after the sun goes down on your island. Although he might not give the best gifts, I still enjoy scouring my island for the lost pieces of his spirit. I probably like helping him because he is just so cute! I knew the first time that I met Wisp, I wanted to make make a little crochet version of him.

The great thing about Wisp is he is a simple round shape which makes for a great beginner crochet pattern. I hope you enjoy this pattern and please feel free to tag me on social media so I can see your creation! If you are more of a visual learner, I have a video tutorial of this pattern at the bottom of this page.

Also, if you stumbled upon this page but don’t know how to crochet amigurumi, I have a comprehensive course for beginners to learn the art of amigurumi! Check it out here.

If you would like to purchase the full PDF pattern with step by step photos, you can do so here.

MATERIALS & TOOLS

  • Yarn (WHITE) I used A MIX OF Red Heart brand & LOOPS & THREADS yarn, medium, 100% acrylic but feel free to use the yarn of your choosing, the size of your yarn will determine the final size of your CREATION
  • Crochet hook (Size G, 4.0 mm)
  • Polyfil – fiber fill stuffing
  • FELT FOR DETAILS (TAN, BLACK, GRAY)
  • FABRIC GLUE
  • Sewing needle
  • Scissors
  • Stitch marker
  • Sewing pins

ABBREVIATIONS

  • Ch – chain
  • Sc – single crochet
  • Inc- single crochet increase (2 SC in each stitch)
  • SLST – SLIP STITCH
  • Dec- decrease (I use the invisible decrease in all of my creations for a cleaner look)
  • FO – FASTEN OFF
  • Magic ring– Make a loop, leaving a long tail to work with. Insert hook in center of loop, yarn over and draw up a loop. Yarn over, pull through to make the first chain (this does not count as a stitch). Continue to crochet over the loop and tail with the number of stitches called for. There are many wonderful YouTube videos on how to make a magic circle if you are a visual learner! Always move your stitch marker to the last stitch in the round.

THIS PATTERN IS WORKED IN CONTINUOUS ROUNDS.
